Registration is now open for the international academic conference ‘European Sanctions in Perspective: Theory and Policy after Russia’s Full-Scale Invasion’, which will take place on 24–25 September 2026 at SGH Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw, Poland.

MINOS is pleased to cooperate with SGH Warsaw School of Economics and the Centre for Finance and Security (CFS) at RUSI in organising the conference.

Bringing together scholars, practitioners and policy experts from across Europe, the conference will examine the evolution of sanctions and their changing role in international security and economic relations. Across two days, participants will address a broad range of issues, including judicial review and sanctions litigation; the evolving legal architecture of European sanctions; compliance, enforcement and sanctions circumvention; the experience of Central Europe and the Balkans in sanctions implementation; questions of sanctions effectiveness, legitimacy and political narratives; and the role of sanctions within strategic statecraft and the future of global economic governance.

Particular attention will be devoted to the experience of Central Europe and to the future direction of European sanctions policy following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
